I thought it might be helpful to do a few bog posts about our own wedding! We got married in early September and had a very autumnal, boho, eclectic, eco, fun and relaxed day. Bit a mouthful that. This blog post is about all the lovely suppliers we used.
Our Venue: The Dreys
We loved the Dreys for so many wonderful reasons. First of all, the woodland is magical and we loved the idea of getting married outdoors as we love being outdoors. Being able to camp over was also a huge factor for us. We love going to festivals and camping so we wanted our friends to share this experience and all be hung-over together the morning after.
The styling is unique and the different spaces make it logistically really easy and fluid (i.e. no change around areas). The staff are friendly and super accommodating which was also a huge factor. Jackie, Robin, Jo, and the team are brilliant.
Food was a big one for us! We didn’t want the traditional 3 course meal and canapés.
We chose Humble Pies who did us an amazing grazing table so people could have some nibbles after the ceremony. Then we had the epic pies as a main. This was festival street food style where people could go up to the food tent with their plate and pick and choose what they liked!
For dessert, we just bought a shit ton of cakes from M&S and the BEST vegan brownies from The Vegan Bakes. Instead of serving dessert we just dud a big dessert table where people could go up and pick what they fancied. It meant we had hardly any waste as people continued to nibble throughout the night too.
We also had all of the cheese from The Cheese Shed. We actually originally bought our wedding cheese from M&S but they mucked up our order so we had to quickly phone around and the cheese shed saved the day! Plus every one commented on how good the cheese was. I’m so sad I didn’t get to try any of it!! Note to any future couples, have someone plate up ALL the food so you have a doggy bag to snack on in the evening or the next day!
We also got Humble Pies to do some Cornish Pasties for our evening food as we have a serious love for them. My grandparents lived in Cornwall and every summer we would have them. They were amazing! We loved tucking into them at about 2am when we went to bed haha. The perfect amount of carbs to fill that alcohol fuelled stomach!
Again we are both huge music fans so we really wanted some live music to create an epic atmosphere. At first we weren’t sure that our budget would stretch, but we made it happen and we are SO glad we did!
Tom Martin Music @tommartinmusic played an acoustic set as our guests entered the venue for welcome drinks before the ceremony. It was dreamy. He is so talented and the nicest guy.
Then we had the most epic evening band: the deloreons ! Everyone was on the dance floor all night and it’s all thanks to them! They were just sensational. If you’re thinking about having a band, honestly, BOOK THEM.
Florals & Styling
The amazing Sue Davies was our florist. That lady is a talent beyond measure!
The Dreys have a lot of stuff already there, and we also borrowed some amazing bits from Nikki from Toast Prop hire. She has the best Persian rugs and bohemian goods!
My Dress is from a dress maker based in LA called Saldana Vintage! So it was a bit risky sending out my measurements and hoping it would fit but it was perfect! Saldana Vintage also made the dress into a top and skirt so I had more movement.
Candra from Wild Rose Bridal Hair did my hair and made us awesome flower crowns.
Photography & Film
This was a big priority for me (Greg not so much lol). We really wanted the photography and video to be relaxed and natural. We wanted to see all our guests having the best time and have those memories. I have no words we love our photos and video so much. I am so thankful for all the hard work and awesome talent Camera Hannah and Ash Videography!
