A London Asylum and Battersea Arts Centre Wedding
Viki & Stef had an awesome London Asylum and Battersea Arts Centre Wedding! It was my first wedding of 2019 and it was the best way to start the season!
The Asylum is such a unique and characterful building with the most interesting history. The Church got bombed in the second world war and none of the stained glass windows broke! How cool is that? I won’t bore you with all the details, but you can read more about it here: http://maverickprojects.co.uk/asylum/history-conservation/
Equally Battersea Arts centre is also full of character and has that shabby chic look. I laughed with Viki & Stef as their groomsmen described it as “really run down, but in a good way”!
I just loved all the quirky and cool fashion. I mean, bridesmaids in black and leather jackets, not much can top that! Also, shout out to the guys and best woman in red and black suits. You all looked insanely cool too!
Performances, DIY and Unique Details
There was an array of talented folk involved in their wedding. Stef is a musician and it was so cool that he and many of his family and friends performed, but the best bit was that Viki learnt to play the guitar and performed with them all on stage! That takes some guts so kudos to Viki!
Not only were there a bunch of creative musical talents, but Viki’s mum also got involved and MADE, that’s right, she made Viki’s wedding dress! How lovely is that? She also put together all the bouquets and button holes. Viki’s friend Polly is a graphic designer and made the coolest wedding stationery ever!
All these elements made the day so personal and unique. More than that though, Stef and Viki and all their friends and family were the nicest and fun loving people ever! It was such a joy to be part of their special day.
Big congrats guys!
